UCC coordinates the “Mental Health Promotion and Intervention in Occupational Settings” project with overall responsibility for the development and assessment of the intervention, including conduct of the cluster randomised controlled trial in eight EU countries.

Prof. Ella Arensman

Prof. Ella Arensman is the Coordinator of the “Mental Health Promotion and Intervention in Occupational Settings” project and Research Professor with the School of Public Health, College of Medicine and Health at UCC, and Chief Scientist with the National Suicide Research Foundation. She is Vice President of the European Alliance Against Depression (EAAD), Visiting Professor with the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention, Griffith University, Brisbane, and an expert advisor for WHO. Prof Arensman has been involved in research and prevention into suicide, self-harm and related mental health and social issues for more than 30 years, and her and expertise represents multiple research areas, including risk and protective factors associated with suicide and self-harm, real-time surveillance of suicide and self-harm, and effectiveness of mental health promotion and suicide prevention programmes.

Dr Birgit Greiner

Dr Birgit Greiner is Vice Dean of the School of Public Health at UCC and Director of the MSc Occupational Health programme. Her research centres on occupational health with a particular focus on psychosocial working conditions, job stress and stress-related health and wellbeing, such as mental health.

Ms Karen Mulcahy

Ms Karen Mulcahy is Senior Administrator at the School of Public Health at UCC. Karen has over 20 years of administrative, project management and research support experience in the areas of public health, mental health, and foetal and neonatal research.

Caleb Leduc is a postdoctoral researcher with University College Cork’s School of Public Health and the National Suicide Research Foundation. Caleb’s applied research interests include the development and evaluation of participatory, organizational interventions targeting psychological health and well-being, job stress, physical fitness, and injury incidence.
